Liber8 provides professional therapy for anyone over the age of 16.
We believe professional therapy should be accessible to anyone who is going through a difficult time. Talking Matters, and it helps to open up to someone you trust.
For a small donation per session, we can offer you one-to-one counselling with a professional therapist to help with a range of issues, including (but not limited to):
- Anxiety, panic or stress.
- Depression, loneliness or feeling down about life in general.
- Bereavement and loss.
- Feelings of anger or feeling upset about things from the past.
- Alcohol misuse and / or substance use issues.
- Dealing with a crisis in your life.
- Fragile or fractured relationships.
- Concerns about your partner or a family member’s behaviour.
Your allocated counsellor will meet with you weekly for a therapy session of up to 60 minutes. The time, day, and frequency of these sessions is completely up to you. Every 6 weeks, your sessions will be reviewed so that you have a chance to discuss with your counsellor if any changes are required.
All of our professional counsellors are experienced in providing therapy to improve emotional and mental wellbeing – some are fully qualified, some are reaching the end of their training, and many volunteer their time freely to run our not-for-profit services.
So that Liber8 can continue to offer accessible professional therapy for everyone, we ask for a small donation as payment your counselling session - but only if you are in a position to do so. There is no fixed charge, it can be as little as £5 per session or as much as you can afford, and it will not affect your access to the service. We do appreciate that contributing a donation will not be possible for many, and we will welcome you to Liber8 regardless of your ability to pay.
Many of us, at some stage in our life, will go through a difficult time. Counselling offers you a safe place to share what you are feeling and explore the difficult areas in your life. By being listened to in an accepting and non-judging environment, you may start to understand yourself better and feel able to make some positive changes.
