Jog Scotland

(Coming soon, Viewparks very own “jogscotland” programme at Liber8 Health and Leisure)

jogscotland is an approach to health and fitness for people who want to make a positive move towards improving their health and wellbeing. It follows a progressive exercise programme delivered by trained Jog Leaders who offer guidance and support. The programme is available for anyone over 16, with no upper age limit. There are separate Junior jogscotland programmes for primary and secondary school pupils

There is no required level of initial fitness and no entry test to join jogscotland. However like all responsible organisations jogscotland does recommend a check up with your GP before you start if you have any pre-existing medical condition that might affect your participation in an exercise programme. The programme has three levels to meet different people’s needs:

  • Beginners' walk-jog
  • Intermediate jog
  • Advanced jog-run

jogscotland like other health and fitness programmes believe that being more active can have specific health benefits by reducing the risk of:

  • heart disease, high blood pressure and strokes
  • certain cancers
  • osteoporosis
  • diabetes
  • obesity

It can also:

  • prolong your independence as you grow older
  • give you more time for yourself

All sessions are supervised by a Jog Leader specially trained in fitness, health, motivation, walking and running.
